A weekend with the Daisies

Happy Monday!

Can you believe that we will be springing the clocks forward this weekend? (And also changing smoke alarm batteries πŸ™‚ )

Little Daisy spent the night Saturday with my mom, so Mr. Daisy and I went out for a much needed date night. In frugal fashion, we used a $100 Visa gift card from my Dad and went to a lovely sushi dinner. Β We followed this up with a movie used a gift card to see “Logan” (which was really, really good). No money out of our pocket other than gas money!

We spent Sunday meandering around outside doing some odds and ends, I went grocery shopping for the week, cooked at home, and made some delicious blueberry banana muffins to avoid food waste.

Spring is starting to peak through at the Daisy homestead…

Tulip starts

More tulip starts

Little Daisy helping pick up sticks

…this happened quite a bit πŸ™‚Β

I did some work in our tomato garden

Mr. Daisy did some honey-do wood working for me

I am SO excited to see this when it’s finished!Β

How was your weekend? Did you do any frugal things?

I love your pictures! Spring is coming soon!

I made Sushi at home this weekend! I guess it was National Sushi Saturday πŸ˜‰ It was pretty tasty and cost only $39 to feed 6. This next week, I hope to keep it up with the frugality. I’ve noticed the less I go out, the more money I save… hmm…

I’m not brave enough to make sushi at home, but bravo! πŸ™‚

I can’t believe your tulips are sprouting already!! I think ours will come early, but I’m not sure when. We’re in the Upper Midwest and although it’s been warmer than usual, we still aren’t quite near flower season yet.

I couldn’t believe it either when I started to clean up the yard! I hope that they aren’t blooming too early because of the unseasonably warm weather we have been having only to die when it freezes again. We are in the Great Lakes area πŸ™‚

Gardening and woodworking are 2 of my favourite things. Can’t wait for spring!

Great photos! I haven’t had sushi in a long time, now you got me thinking about it. Glad you had a good date night. And thanks for the reminder about changing the clocks.

It sounds like a lovely weekend with lots of family time! Your daughter looks like she’s a good “helper” πŸ™‚

I’m envious of your tulips. It’s too hot for them down here in Central Florida, not to mention that I’m a lousy gardener.

Is your husband building you a menu board? Or a sign for your veggie garden?

He’s actually building me a wooden cow for a home decor piece πŸ™‚

Just found you through the Frugal Girl! They were talking about gardening. I see you have some DAFFODILS and CROCUSES coming up! No tulips, though, at least not in the photos! Lol!

Lol, thanks πŸ™‚ I’m not at the gardening level yet to where I can identify a flower by its shoot πŸ™‚
